Chips and Salsa
Chips and Salsa

Original painting on cradled birchwood measuring 30" x 40" with a 1.5” depth.

Chips and Salsa is part of “Social Studies”, a series documenting the hopefulness of honest work and the simple pleasures it provides.

Process Notes:

Steacy begins by priming the hardwood painting surface and attaching a hanging wire to the back. After studying the reference image, she creates sample sketches on paper before drawing the design directly onto the prepared surface. Custom colors are then mixed to form a unique palette, carefully chosen to match the desired mood and tone of the piece. Throughout the painting process, Steacy balances color intensity, contrast, and spatial weight, using both intuition and precision to achieve a harmonious, visually striking, and fully resolved artwork.

Steacy’s flattened, fine-line effect is meticulously hand-crafted with great attention to detail. Achieving the simplicity of this painting style demands exceptional skill and significant time, as its minimalism leaves no room for error.

This painting was created in Brooklyn, New York in 2024 and is signed by STEACY.
